10 Best Ways to Lose Weight While Working

EVERYONE spends half a day at work, and that's a pretty long time. Office work typically spends 7 to 9 hours of work, where you sit in an office chair all day typing on a computer and snacking on your desk. Sitting for long periods without exercise has a risk of premature death.

Sometimes, your work is so stressful that it triggers you to eat more emotionally. This results in faster weight gain. Therefore, it takes a strategy to streamline your time in losing weight.


Sitting on a desk for a longer period of time without a break can slow down your metabolism, increase obesity, cause heart disease, arthritis and more.


You need to change your lifestyle while working in the office, so no need to experience excessive weight gain and suffering from illness.


As reported by Boldsky, there are many ways to lose weight while you work in the office:


1. Drink plenty of water

Drinking plenty of water during your working hours will help in the fight against fatigue, prevent dehydration, headaches and keep you from eating unnecessary snacks.

According to the American Council Of Exercise, women should drink at least 2.7 liters of water, and men nearly 2.8 liters per day. In addition, drinking water will provide a quick energy boost to the body.



2. Chewing gum

Chewing gum during work hours will make you more alert and will help reduce anxiety, and stress.

By chewing gum reduces saliva cortisol, a stress hormone that increases fat cells. This hormone is what causes fat accumulation in the abdominal area, enlarge your waistline.

So start chewing gum in your workplace.


3. Pack lunch from home

Do not eat fast food during the lunch hour every day. This food has a high amount of calories in it, which will gain weight and will also make you feel lethargic.

Instead, make it a habit to bring a nutritious home meal every day.


4. Drinking red tea (rooibos)

When you come to work in the morning, you always make a cup of coffee that triggers addiction and make it again. Change this habit by making a cup of red tea.

You will be surprised to learn that red tea, or rooibos, has a fat burning quality. Red tea contains catechins that increase fat oxidation. Therefore, drinking it is not a bad idea, is it?
 


5. Use the ladder

Always use the stairs and stop using the elevator if you really want to lose weight at work. In fact you will not realize how hard you are if you use an office lift every day.

By routinely using stairs, you can lose twice as many calories as you would when walking.
 


6. Try to stand while doing something in the office

Research shows that standing will burn more calories than sitting. Standing burns 50 calories per hour rather than sitting.

Standing will increase your blood sugar level, increase the core strength of your posture and nourish your mental.
 


7. Enjoy the salad between meals

Eating salads at lunch or between meals will make you full and will prevent your food cravings while you are at work. Fill your salad with protein such as chicken, eggs and fiber such as avocado and nuts.

You can also add tomatoes and dried beans to your salad as a topping.
 


8. Bring a box of chia seeds

A box full of chia seeds is an easy way to add nutrients to your body while you work at the work table. Chia seeds are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, protein and calcium and the seeds are easily absorbed by the body, which makes you full. 

9. Walk 2 minutes every hour

When you're at your desk, take the time to walk for at least 2 minutes every hour. According to the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, a 2 minute walk every hour can reduce the bad effects of sitting. 

10. Always bring healthy snacks

If you feel hungry and want food, do not eat fried foods. Instead, choose a healthy snack that will help you in losing weight.

Healthy snacks such as grain crackers, grilled beans, peanut butter, apples, bananas, carrot and cucumber slices will provide enough nutrition for your body.
